Afropunk Crowns

I hope it’s not too late to say Happy New year!! I hope all your wishes and dreams come true this year and remember to own your crowns unapologetically!

Thank you for your support, much appreciated.

I wanted to recap on the crowns I created at Afropunk Joburg 2018. I created a headpiece for Amonge Sinxoto Co-founder of Blackboard Africa which was inspired by another Hair Artist from Paris, Nadeen Mateky.

I had sleepless nights creating this piece but it was all worth it! I like how you can wear the headpiece in different ways, see below;

A friend of mine Nosipho also asked me to create a flower crown and we took inspiration from Organic Royalty, she was blooming with excitement and her boyfriend decided to join in and I created two horns that ended up taking a shape of a heart at some point hahahaha! check them out below,

Another friend from Maputo Mozambique,Eliana Nzualo who was in Johannesburg for a holiday and ofcourse for the Afropunk festival! She didn’t have any specific hairstyle she wanted so I created something simple but cool, I mixed braids with wool to make it creatively cool.

Lastly I had to do something with my hair so I re-designed my braided hat by adding a big braid extension on top and decorated with crowe shells. I paired the hat with a beaded, silver piece from China City.
