OwnURcrown is a Hair Street Culture platform started by Nikiwe Dlova, it showcases freedom of hair expression in individuals, art and media productions.

Nikiwe Dlova, a young, vibrant, colourful creative from Soweto,she loves expressing herself through her hair, fashion, music and art or you’ll find her exploring new places with her single speed kipkip fixie.
Nikiwe graduated at University of Johannesburg in 2013 and obtained a Diploma in Clothing Management. While she was studying, she got accepted at one of the biggest retailer’s in South Africa, Edcon , for a one year internship as a Quality Assurance (QA) Technologist for Intimate wear, after the internship she moved to a Buying department where she was as an Assistant Buyer for Ladies Sleepwear and Shoes, where she worked for 3 years.
In 2016 she started her ownURcrown blog which lead her to the digital media space and she got an opportunity to further her content creation career at The Stylista, she was hired as a Campaign Manager, she strategized, built client liaison and managed post campaign results for big brands such as New Balance, Rimmel London, Converse, Sunglass Hut, Palladium Boots, Herschel, Dr Martens and the list goes on. After a year she got promoted to be a Content producer for The Stylista’s content where she did event coverage interviews, Sidewalk sessions and overall brand’s content and proposals.
ownURcrown brand has expanded into a Pop Up Salon for quick creative hairstyles using wool, hair extensions and hair accessories, check out the first pop up here
